Another KMC councillor, Biswajit Mondal arrested, after woman alleges molestation and threats
Pakistan registered a convincing 32-run victory over the United States of America (USA) in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on February 10. The win, Pakistan’s second in as many matches, strengthened their position in the group standings.
Sent in to bat by USA captain Monank Patel, Pakistan posted a competitive 190/9 in their 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan led the charge with a blistering 73 off 41 balls including five sixes, while Babar Azam contributed a solid 46 off 28. The duo forged key partnerships, laying the foundation for a challenging total. In reply, the USA showed fight with Shubham Ranjane scoring 51 off 30 balls and Shayan Jahangir adding 49 off 34, but Pakistan’s bowling attack, especially spinners, kept the chase in check. The United States finished at 158/8 in 20 overs, falling short of the 191-run target.
Pakistan’s spinners played a crucial role in restricting the USA, with Usman Tariq taking 3/27 and Shadab Khan claiming 2/26, while Shaheen Shah Afridi chipped in with a key breakthrough. The result also served as a measure of revenge for Pakistan, avenging their shock loss to the USA in the previous T20 World Cup.
